Egypt holiday

Flying into Cairo was certainly a wow moment, see the pyramids as we are coming into land was everything I imagined. Egypt has also been a place of mystery and wonder with its ancient history and so different to anything I have experienced.

Cairo offers a plethora of things to do, I would not recommend going from Cairo city to the Giza Pyramids as a day trip as you could spend hours in traffic, rather stay out there and take in the Wonder of the World.

I have travelled a couple of times in Egypt and it is a place I would go back to in a heartbeat. Travelling is fun with families or couples you just need have the right arrangements, travelling on your own as a woman is not something I would recommend, it just adds a whole other level of stress. And you can do it on all travelling budgets, depending on what is on your wish list.

As a person who looks, history and culture, Egypt ticks all the boxes and you have the opportunity to see some incredible artifacts. The Grand Museum is partially open which is something I look forward to seeing on you next trip’

We adventured on the overnight train with the kids, if that is not for you then flying is an option as well.

Crazy museums like the Crocodile Museum are a must if you want to see mummified animals, which were all so important to go with their kings and queens into the afterlife.

Cruising the Nile is fun and can be done by felucca, cruise or dahabiya.

Aswan, Luxor and Abu Simbel are just some of the incredible sites that you must see. From Luxor you can ride a donkey towards the Valley of the Kings to see ancient tombs with fabulous hieroglyphics. Or visit Queen Hatshepsut’s temple.

Of course you can cruise from Aswan to Luxor and see other amazing sites on the way… there is just so much to see and do…

Connecting with the locals is always a great way to experience a place.

If you want to tag on a bit of a beach experience the Hurdgarda is a good option where you can swim in the red sea. What ever you do it will be amazing and I plan to put another tour together, if you interested let me know and I will keep you posted. If you can’t wait then I can help you plan a special trip.
